Expo 2020 Dubai: The United Arab Emirates secured the right to host the 2020 Dubai Developers World Expo in November 2013. The World Expo will be held in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia for the first time (MEASA). The World Expos have continued to be one of the biggest and most enduring global mega-events since the first Great Fair of 1851. World Expos has drawn millions of visitors over the past six months, visiting and experiencing pavilions, exhibitions and cultural activities organized by hundreds of participants, including governments, international organizations and corporations. Under the theme of Linking Minds, Shaping the Future, Dubai's World Expo echoes the powerful spirit of collaboration and cooperation that has guided the success of the UAE in pioneering new growth and innovation routes. Through this theme, during a World Expo of unparalleled global reach, under the sub-themes of: Mobility, Sustainability & Opportunity, Expo 2020 Dubai will act as a catalyst, linking minds from around the world and empowering participants to mobilize around common challenges.
It is estimated that the Expo will draw 25 million visits, of which 70 percent will be from overseas. This will be the first expo where the majority of visitors come from outside the boundaries of a country. The Expo will begin the country's Golden Jubilee celebrations from 20 October 2020 through 10 April 2021 and serve as a springboard from which to inaugurate a progressive and prosperous vision for the coming decades. Dubai is hosting the World Expo Dubai in the Developers in UAE, opening on October 20, 2020. On November 27, 2013, the Bureau International des Expositions general assembly in Paris awarded Dubai as the host.
